L.I. Web Developers Guild Announces Web Awards
Hauppauge, NY, Nov. 17, 2000 -- The Long Island Web Developers Guild (LIWDG), the region's oldest and largest professional organization dedicated to the education and networking of Internet professionals, is pleased to announce the first annual Web Awards of Long Island (WALI), created to recognize achievements in Web design and development.
The WALIs, to be presented in March 2001, specifically address the accomplishments of the Web development community on Long Island, including Web firms, Web freelancers, advertising agencies, software companies, and Internet service providers.
"With the WALIs, the Long Island Web Developers Guild will be showcasing Web design and development by Long Island professionals," says Kim Foglia, president of the LIWDG. "Innovative and stunning Web work is not confined to the city's Silicon Alley. Extraordinary accomplishments are being created every day on Long Island, and it's time we pay tribute to our best and most talented Web professionals," she adds. "These awards will not only acknowledge the exceptional work of today's professionals, but also encourage those pursuing New Media careers to stay on Long Island."
